What is Silhouette InstaLift®?

Gravity, oh gravity! Thou art the bane of our existence! Think of your skin like a beautiful building whose foundation has started to sink over time. Our skin has 3 key components.  Collagen, Elastin and Hylauronic Acid comprise the foundation of our skin.  As we age, this foundation sinks and our face begins to sag.

Thankfully, we have many options to rejuvenate your face at Bawa Medical.  We have a truly anti- aging skincare line that is far superior to the average “medical grade” skincare on the market. We perform laser and energy based procedures using Candela Medical devices, such as the Profound® radiofrequency  microneedling non-surgical facelift, CO2 resurfacing, IPL photofacial, and so much more. We use SkinPen ® for our microneedling, as well as our Vampire Facial®  and Vampire Facelift ® procedures. We also offer medical grade HydraFacial ® that is fine-tuned to your individual needs such as anti-aging, sun damage, rosacea, acne, etc. These are all life-altering procedures that are dramatically anti-aging. We also offer injectables such as toxins (wrinkle relaxers), and dermal fillers that restore Collagen under the skin such as Radiesse ® .

And then of course, we have Silhouette InstaLift®. So, you ask, “What is Silhouette InstaLift®?” This is extremely advanced microsuspension technology that uses tiny cones made from a natural substance called PLLA (commonly referred to as Sculptra).  This is essentially a sugar.  Your body absorbs the sugar and the process leads to Collagen and Elastin production under the skin.  This internally rejuvenates you by restoring volume, and giving you a more youthful appearance.  What makes Silhouette InstaLift ® unique is that it gives you an immediately visible lift while building Collagen and Elastin proteins under your skin over time.

Silhouette InstaLift ® is the only available FDA-approved non-surgical technique with a dual mechanism of action by which the absorbable suspension suture delivers an immediate lift, followed by an ongoing volumizing effect that improves over time. Silhouette InstaLift ® is also the only absorbable suture that is FDA-cleared for cosmetic facial procedures. The many threads available on the market do not have the FDA’s blessing for the procedures they are being used in, and certainly don’t possess the micro suspension technology that Silhouette InstaLift®  provides. Scary, but true.

Coming back to that building we were discussing, Silhouette InstaLift ® therefore helps rebuild and restore the foundation that was sinking, and lift it back to where it belongs.  I am sure that you are wondering if Silhouette InstaLift ® is right for you.  If you would like to avoid a surgical facelift and actually improve the quality of your skin instead of simply stretching it tighter, then Silhouette InstaLift® is for you.  This rejuvenates your skin from the inside out instead of leaving you with scars from skin that has been stretched tight but not rejuvenated. Silhouette InstaLift  literally builds volume under your skin and therefore gives it the appearance of being fuller and younger.  This is a quick and minimally invasive option to restore the youthful lift in your midface that you lose over time.

Your next question is “How is Silhouette InstaLift ® performed?”  We first temporarily mark you face with a pen.  We then apply a local anesthetic followed by the actual procedure.  This is a relatively short procedure.  Many call it the lunchtime facelift.  You now ask, “How long does Silhouette InstaLift last® ?”  You will see an immediate lift but full results can take 2 to 3 months as you face builds Collagen and Elastin and restructures itself. The results can last up to 2 years.

The natural next question is “Is Silhouette InstaLift ®  painful?”  This procedure involves minimal discomfort because we anesthetize you extremely well.  Silhouette InstaLift is a minimally invasive procedure and does not require general anesthesia unlike a regular surgical facelift.

And then you ask, “How much downtime should I expect after Silhouette InstaLift ®?”  You may experience minor pain, swelling and some bruising.  The recovery time is short with most people returning to normal activities within 2 to 4 days.  We recommend avoiding high-impact sports such as running for 2 weeks.  Beyond that, most people return to normal activities almost immediately.
